Black Pearl® Cold Fluid Applied Rubberized Asphalt Roofing & Waterproofing System Black Pearl® is a cold sheet applied rubberized asphalt waterproofing system that is composed of two primary products: Black Pearl® Adhesive Black Pearl® Sheet Membrane Uses: New and restoration applications Plaza deck waterproofing systems Protected membrane roofs (IRMA®)* Green Roof Roofscapes® Vertical waterproofing applications Parking decks, bridges, water treatment plants Between slab waterproofing membrane systems Black Pearl® Adhesive utilizes a core formula of select, unoxidized asphalt cement base, butyl rubber, styrene isoprene styrene (SIS), neoprene rubber, styrenebutadiene- styrene rubber (SBS),fillers, plasticizers and curing agents. Black Pearl® Adhesive also has an aliphatic solvent that is within acceptable OSHA and EPA current regulations. Unlike similar waterproofing membranes reinforced with glass fabric, the 55-mil Black Pearl® Sheet Membrane is made with FSC Textbond® spunbond polyester that is reinforced with integral longitudinal fiberglass strands set 3/8” apart in the machine direction. This synergistic combination provides polyester’s well known elastic elongation, puncture and tear resistance with the tensile strength and stability of fiberglass. Black Pearl® Sheet Membrane has been impregnated on both sides with the same Black Pearl® rubberized formula as its adhesive counterpart, which is protected by a peelable polyethylene release liner allowing for the unique benefit of complete walkability during application. The compatibility between the two components is 100 percent, with the Black Pearl® Adhesive acting as a catalyst on the sheets and chemically fusing the system elements together (including flashings) into a thick, semi-monolithic waterproof membrane. Black Pearl® (BP) Waterproofing System has the unique ability to be applied to green and damp concrete. It is also compatible with asphaltic products enabling restoration of project that were originally asphaltic based and ties to hot rubberized asphalt. The resulting asphaltic-rubber membrane provides a complete, high-performance waterproofing membrane that is VOC-free, environmentally friendly, rapidly installed, and delivers a complete solution for the entire scope of waterproofing. RamProof GC forms to a single set, fully adhered, monolithic, and seamless membrane that results in a high-performance membrane that resists hydrostatic pressure, bridges cracks and will move with created expansion and contraction of surfaces.
