EMUS G1 Clustered BMS Topology for High-Capacity ESS Applications (IEC62619 ready) The EMUS G1 Clustered BMS topology is designed for building large-scale lithium-ion battery systems, primarily in Electric Energy Storage (EES) applications where high power, large capacity, and modularity are critical. This configuration not only enables the creation of extensive ESS solutions but also provides redundancy—for instance, if one of the battery strings or subsystems goes offline, the remaining strings can continue operating and supplying power without interruption. With off-the-shelf EMUS components, storage systems of up to 2 MWh can be deployed, while even larger solutions can be realized through customized configurations. The EMUS G1 Clustered System combines multiple G1 Distributed Grouped or Centralized CCGM subsystems. Up to 18 strings, each managed by its own G1 Control Unit (CU), can be connected into one unified system. Among them, one CU is automatically assigned as the Master, while the others act as Slaves. The Master CU collects data from all Slave CUs, manages system logic, and communicates with external devices such as chargers, inverters, vehicle control units (VCUs), or programmable logic controllers (PLCs). System configuration is streamlined using the EMUS Control Panel, a powerful tool provided free of charge to all EMUS customers. The system communicates via a proprietary EMUS CAN protocol, using a dedicated CAN Filter device to isolate internal CAN traffic from external communication. This ensures robust and stable performance across all layers of the system.
