Sigma Systems' Thermal Chambers
The Thermonics Low Temperature Process Chillers are engineered for demanding industrial and R&D environments where precise, reliable, and robust low-temperature fluid and air cooling is essential. Whether the application is semiconductor manufacturing, pharmaceutical synthesis, aerospace component testing, or chemical process control, these chillers deliver performance, flexibility, and ease of integration unmatched in their class. Wide Temperature Range and Model Flexibility Thermonics process chillers are available in both air- and water-cooled models, with temperature capabilities ranging from as low as -100°C up to +300°C , and cooling capacities reaching up to 30kW at ultra-low setpoints. This enables effective support for a wide spectrum of applications, from deep cryogenic conditioning to sub-ambient process stabilization. Fluid chiller models such as the W-40-3100 and W-80-2500 offer chilling capacity of 3.1kW at -40°C and 2.5kW at -80°C, respectively, with fluid temperature stability maintained within ±0.5°C at the rated load, ensuring repeatability and process control even under dynamic thermal loads. Thermonics also provides LN2-cooled process chillers for the ultimate in ultra-low temperature performance, capable of delivering up to 20kW of cooling at -90°C , paired with energy efficiency and a smaller system footprint compared to traditional mechanical systems. These models are especially suited for high-throughput and high-precision operations in cutting-edge sectors such as semiconductor or defense. Core Features and Performance Hydraulics High Stability and Uniformity: Process fluid temperature is maintained to within tight tolerances, with feedback-control and rapid response to changing process demands. Setpoint range options span from -80°C to +50°C, with specific models extending even further depending on the required configuration and cooling technology. Flexible Fluid and Gas Handling: Chillers can be configured for a wide range of heat transfer fluids, such as Syltherm XLT or 3M Novec 7100, and offer flow rates from 4 to 8 GPM (15 to 30 LPM) at pressures up to 50 PSIG. Wetted materials are offered in standard copper/nickel/brass or with full stainless steel wetted pathways for aggressive or ultra-pure applications. Integrated Process Heating: Many models feature both cooling and heating capabilities, often supporting process heaters rated at 1.7kW or more—allowing rapid heating cycles up to +50°C or higher. User Interface and Connectivity: A 5.7-inch color touch-screen provides comprehensive control, live graphing, and setpoint management. Extensive diagnostics, alarms (for low flow, low reservoir, temperature out-of-range), and performance logs facilitate proactive maintenance and process assurance. Remote monitoring is supported via Ethernet, Serial-USB, and web interfaces, with additional support for RS-232. Safety and Compliance: These systems are built to international standards, including CE and RoHS compliance and designed to meet UL1995/UL61010. Built-in protections and optional features like drip trays further ensure safety and environmental integrity.
