Variable Durometer Tube

The Asahi Variable Durometer Tube is a continuous extrusion processs that has a transition zone between a harder proximal end and a softer distal end. They transition length is typically 150mm to 300mm long depending on the OD/ID of the tube. Materials we use are typically Pebax, Vestamid, etc... This manufacturing process helps reduce cost in catheter manufacturing, reduces lot-to-lot variation, and has a linear transition and not a stepped transition like welded durometer tube assembly. Asahi offers value-add processing for the VDT tube where we can manufacture with Liner and offer coiling or braiding. | The Asahi Variable Durometer tube is of very high quality with tightly controlled tolerances, thinnest wall, and a transition zone that can be controlled. Our VDT tube is manufactured over a mandrel by a continuous extrusion process. We can also manufacture it over our Ultra-thin PTFE Liner and both braiding and coiling options are available. Materials are Pebax, Quadrathane, and Vestamid. | Our ACTONE Cable tube is a single-layer, multi-filar, flexible shaft that can be customized to meet you performance requirements for flexibility, torque force, 1-1 torque response, stretch resistance, and pushability. Asahi Filmecc can do secondary processing to the ACTONE with sub-assembly of machined parts and hypotubes as well as add jacketing or extrusions to the shaft. The ACOTONE has various designs in the family like the Standard, Flat, Ultra-thin, Swaged, etc... The ACTONE OD range is 0.008" to 0.160"" and ID's up to 0.135"". The ACTONE is used in many medical applications like structural heart
